CMN Releases Resource to Encourage Church Leaders

At the conclusion of the 2026 Church Multiplication Network (CMN) conference in Houston, CMN released a new resource designed to encourage church planters and help refocus pastors across the country on the heart of CMN’s mission: reaching the one.

This focus was the theme of the conference, held March 2-4, at Grace Church, which hosted over 2,000 attendees from across the United States. National leaders, including Assemblies of God General Superintendent Doug Clay and Theological Counsel for the AG Allen Tennison, shared their hearts and delivered uplifting yet challenging messages.

And while every CMN conference ends with a small takeaway, this year’s conference gift was something about which CMN leaders were especially excited.

Alex Brown, communications and content strategist for CMN, says that Clay and the CMN team wanted to give away something devotional – something people could return to – and originally considered a printed resource.

“However, it evolved into an album, a physical CD, that will serve as a tool to encourage church planters and church leaders,” says Brown. The resource developed into capturing significant voices on the theme of church multiplication.

The conference itself featured a retro aesthetic, according to Brown, which was a natural cohesive fit for the conference takeaway, an intentionally “old-school” format.

“CDs are novel now, but this physical token matters,” says Brown. “Even if someone doesn’t play it every day, it becomes a reminder about the work God did in their life at the conference.”

While attendees received physical copies of the CD, CMN desires to make every track accessible to leaders across the Fellowship.

Prayers for Multiplication includes nine tracks, each featuring a word of encouragement and a prayer by an influential leader within the AG, something Clay says captures the heart of multiplication.

“Through the voices of leaders spanning nearly 20 years of CMN history, this project reflects our deep commitment to build and multiply the Church. In a world where sin seems to multiply, we boldly proclaim an even greater truth: in Jesus, hope multiplies,” Clay says.

Among leaders who contributed to the album is Steve Pike, CMN’s original director, who reflects on the early days of CMN and the influence that former General Superintendent George O. Wood had in championing church planting. Also included is Jeff Leake, one of the founding lead team members of CMN, who died unexpectedly weeks before the conference.

The album’s call to action, according to Brown, is less about the specifics of church planting and more about the biblical call to go after the one far from God  the person who is lost and needs to be brought to Jesus.

Eight of the tracks follow a deliberate progression and emphasize church growth, multiplication, and the evangelistic urgency to which all churches must respond. The last track, recorded by Mike McCrary, director of operations for CMN, and Gerad Strong, CMN’s director of leadership and training, is a challenge and a commissioning of leaders to heed the call of God to GO and chase after those who don’t yet know Christ.

“We don’t measure ourselves against what we’ve done, we measure ourselves against the unfinished task of a healthy church in every community,” says McCrary.

Strong adds, “This is our alignment with His assignment.”

“This truly shares the heart of CMN. Everything we do is about reaching the one,” Brown says of the new resource.
